Best Management Practices
Welcome to DYH. Here are some things that will help you understand how we expect your help with the management of our sailboats only facility.
Best Management Practices.
- Dogs, if you must bring yours, please keep it on a leash while on the grounds on the south side of C Street. To the north of C Street in the storage area and Public Reserve is a good dog run. We find that some dogs on a leash and some off is asking for trouble.
- Garbage. Many thanks to those that separate cans and glass from bagged garbage. Together we can make a difference by recycling, otherwise please consider taking your garbage home with you. Dangerous Waste: Such as used oils, fuel, non-friendly antifreeze, solvent, thinners, unused paint, chemicals, batteries, etc., must be disposed of properly. If in doubt, call or see management for disposal and use environmentally friendly products whenever possible.
- Signage is not used much at DYH as we feel that there are enough life directions Mon.-Fri. so at Dayton we will try to go lightly with the signs. Guest slips at the end of the doc are intended for short-term (24 hr) use for friends of slip tenants or members of other clubs, which offer reciprocity with DYH. These boats should not be left unattended.
- The non-competition clause in the slip contract means that slip holders can not use this facility in any commercial form. Or, if your parents have a boat here, you can not start an excursion and catering business. Or, if your daughter has a powerboat and does not care to sail she can not come and stay in your DYH camp site and use community and DYH facilities with the powerboat. Common sense should prevail here. Insurance, slip agreements, garbage, septic, parking facilities can be abused. We do maintain the right to refuse service and will exercise this right to protect what we have all contributed to, the spirit and success of DYH.
- Dinghies should be kept in the dinghy storage area on the beach or in your slip, not on the docks as an obstacle or hazard to others.
